I have over 15 years experience of working with children in a variety of settings; as a play leader for Bristol Playbus, as a family tour leader for Explore worldwide, teaching English in South Korea and most recently working as a qualified primary school teacher. I have been involved in developing outdoor play and learning opportunities in schools in London and Bristol and am trained in Forest School level 3 and paediatric first aid.

I am passionate about what we do at Out There, offering more opportunities for children to play and learn outside in their natural environment.

Qualifications include: BA (Hons) Politics and Environmental Studies, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Primary and Early years Education, MA in Leadership and Education, Level 3 Forest School Leader with Forest of Avon, Advanced Child Protection with Bristol Children's Safeguarding Board (BSCB), 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid.

ELLA IVES - DEPUTY MANAGER, CO FOUNDER OF out there kindergarten, early years educator

I have 8 years’ experience working with children in various settings including nurseries, SEN/mainstream schools and after school/holiday clubs. I hold a Diploma in Childcare and Education and have recently passed my Leadership in Forest School qualification. Whilst studying, I started working at Redcliffe Children’s Centre where I worked for two years as an early years educator and key worker in the 2-3 room.

I feel very strongly about children having the chance to experience learning outdoors. Forest School promotes learning through risk taking and imaginative play and allows for freedom of expression in a natural environment. The woodland setting has so much to offer children with regards to their holistic experience. Our outdoor preschool will allow children opportunities to engage in a magical learning adventure with our carefully chosen activities and flexible child led approaches.

I have 10 years’ experience working with children in a variety of settings: teaching conversational English in India, working as a teaching assistant in a primary school, developing and delivering development education programmes in schools and colleges, and working as a Support Worker in a Children’s Centre. I am trained in Forest School Level Three and paediatric first aid.

I have a lifelong passion for the natural world and a background in studying Ecology, Sustainability and Food Growing at Degree - soon to be MA level. Through my work in a Bristol Children's Centre, I have had the opportunity to run allotment projects and lead outdoor sessions, and I cannot wait to share more time outdoors.
